A brief message to potential students

Learning new things can be difficult sometimes but with effort and attention the highest achievements are ALWAYS possible, never doubt your ability to understand something simply question the way it was explained to you lastly learning is an ongoing process over many years do not let a slight misunderstanding turn into an obstacle accept help, listen, ask questions and turn weaknesses into strengths

I can help you make incredible improvements and achieve terrific results in Maths…
I have an excellent track record; I have successfully helped my students consistently achieve top grades at GCSE. Many of those who achieved grades A stars were predicted to get a mere grade C by their schools; others were faring much worse.

Take advantage now of a FREE LESSON and a FREE CONSULTATION with no obligation:
(A) CONSULTATION – We can have an informal chat about your exact requirements. It will also give me the opportunity to make an assessment of your current level.
(B) A LESSON – This will give you a taster of my teaching methods to help you make up your mind.

To learn more about what makes my students so successful, please read on:

(1) MY STUDENTS UNDERSTAND THE EVERY SINGLE TOPIC PROPERLY

I will explain each and every topic to you in simple easy-to-understand language until you grasp it completely.

Large and complex topics will be broken down into small nuggets. You will learn each one thoroughly before moving to the next.

(2) EXTREMELY EFFICIENT PROGRESS

If you have holes in the basics, we will focus on that first. You will master the rudiments and then move on to complex topics thereafter.

Once you have a rock-solid foundation, it’ll be smooth sailing thereafter. You will be in a position to grasp complicated ideas quickly, easily, and to a greater depth, saving you time and effort. You may even find that you don’t need my help anymore.

Many students try to study topics like quadratic equations without even a basic understanding of linear algebra. It’s like trying to fix in the windows before the walls have been put up!

(3) TAILORED LESSONS

Every single lesson will focus on your individual needs.

If you find a topic particularly difficult, we will spend more time on it. We can move faster through others.

We will move at your pace; there’ll be no other students to slow us down or force us to move too fast, forcing you to skip over topics without full comprehension.

(4) RELEVANT INFORMATION ONLY

If you are studying for your GCSEs, you must learn everything that may come in your exams; nothing more and certainly not anything less.

There are about half a dozen different specifications for each GCSE course. I stick to the exact specification my students will sit their exams for. To get the best grade, you must focus all your efforts in the right direction.

(5) HOMEWORK THAT ACTUALLY HELPS

Homework is a means, not an end in itself.

Your homework will truly consolidate the lessons; it will help you assimilate the information you learn in the lessons and improve your retention and understanding.

(6) FACTS ON YOUR FINGERTIPS

In your Science exams you will be asked for definitions of technical terms. That means learning them by heart. There is no other way.

This is by no means a reminiscence of an archaic educational system.

If you cannot write down the definition for ‘compound’ before your Chemistry exam, how on earth do you expect to do so in the exam? You won’t. It’s as simple as that. To imagine otherwise is sheer nonsense.

The process you go through to enable you to write down the definition of ‘compound’ is called memorising. It may involve writing it over and over or repeating it verbally, or using flash cards or any other method; this is up to you. We will explore the methods that work best for you.

Cramming meaningless sentences and phrases into your head is certainly not what I mean. You must understand what you are memorising. Otherwise, it will just slip out of your mind like water of a duck’s back.

I will clearly point out to you everything you need to memorize and ensure that you have understood it properly. Don’t worry, it’s really not that much.

You may wish to note that there is very little to memorize in Maths.

(7) EXAM TECHNIQUES

To do really well in your exams, you will need to answer the questions precisely and completely. This means learning exam techniques. You will learn how to do that by working with past papers; by far the best way to prepare for exams.

You will answer the questions and I will mark them, pointing out where you’ve made mistakes and how you would’ve gained full marks. You will then redo those questions and I will re-mark them. We will go through this cycle until you can answer exam questions perfectly.
