The Postgraduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture (PGDipLA) program encompasses various aspects of science, planning, design, creation, and management of landscapes in both urban and rural settings, spanning all scales, from small gardens to urban centers and regional areas. The program focuses on promoting landscapes that are not only visually appealing but also functionally appropriate and ecologically sustainable, while accommodating the evolving needs of society.
Our program offers a comprehensive and diverse curriculum that is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary in nature. It draws upon the traditions of creative and innovative design processes grounded in strong environmental and ecological principles. Through design studios, students gain advanced knowledge and skills by working on real-life design projects with collaborative engagements from relevant sectors. These studios are complemented by lectures, seminars, charrettes, workshops, and exhibitions.
The PGDipLA experience extends beyond the curriculum, with an enriching extra-curricular program. It includes study tours, visits to gardens, guest speakers, participation in design studio juries, guided walks in London, visits to professional offices, drawing workshops, CAD sessions, exhibitions, and student-led publications. The Research Colloquium lecture series provides students with opportunities to interact with the research community, fostering personal interests and facilitating social gatherings.
