Join me for an introductory course on the biblical archaeology of ancient Israel and Judah during the Iron Age (approximately 1200-586 BCE). In this course, we will delve into the captivating world of archaeology, utilizing state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research. Our exploration will encompass the history of this period and the significant entities involved, such as Israel, Judah, Philistine, Mesopotamia, Phoenicia, Aram, Moab, Edom, and ancient Egypt.

A particular emphasis will be placed on the intricate relationship between archaeology, history, and the Bible. We will investigate how modern research reconciles and sometimes clashes with these different sources. Furthermore, we will explore the ways in which archaeology can shed light on biblical texts, and vice versa.

To facilitate your learning experience, the course will incorporate concise video lectures, abundant illustrative materials, on-site discussions at relevant archaeological sites, 3D imagery displays, and thorough examinations of archaeological discoveries. Additionally, we have secured interviews with esteemed researchers in the field. These interviews will offer insights into specific aspects, findings, and sites, as well as present varying perspectives on debated issues.
