Welcome to our Access course designed specifically for learners who have been out of education for a period and may not have the formal qualifications typically required for further and higher education. If you aspire to study computing and progress to university level, this course is tailored to help you achieve that goal.

Course Content:

Our comprehensive curriculum includes core units that cover essential skills to prepare you for higher education and a successful career in computing. These units are:

  1. Information research skills
  2. Maths
  3. English
  4. Computer systems
  5. Networks and spreadsheets
  6. Applying to Higher Education (HE).

Study Methods:

Throughout the course, you will experience a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, group work, workshops, assignments, presentations, and timed assessments. To excel in your studies, we encourage individual study, dedicating 10-15 hours each week to further your understanding.

Assessment Approach:

To evaluate your progress and ensure you grasp the subject matter, each credit will involve diverse activities. These may include oral presentations, projects, essays, practical classwork, and timed examinations.

Upon successful completion of this Access course, you will open doors to a range of exciting opportunities.
