Gain a comprehensive understanding of residential interior design at your own pace and convenience through our online course. This version of KLC’s introductory interior design course emphasizes the essential principles of designing for residential spaces. The course covers a range of topics, including the design process, color schemes, fabric and trimmings selection, lighting considerations, scale-based space planning, soft furnishings, concept development, sourcing materials, creating sample boards, and managing residential projects. By the end of the course, you will be able to create a professional-quality concept board and sample board for a room in your own home or for a client provided by KLC.
The course consists of eight engaging and interactive sections, accessible through our state-of-the-art online learning platform called ‘My KLC.’ As an online student, you will follow the same curriculum as full-time and part-time students enrolled in The Interior Design Course – Level 1. The course materials include streaming video lectures, short exercises, downloadable notes, and supplementary resources.
Throughout regular working hours, tutor support is available through KLC’s Open Learning helpline. Upon completing the course, you can submit your formal coursework, which includes a concept board and sample board, for tutor feedback via an online link provided by KLC.
